Arizona School Choice Programs
Children with Disability Scholarship Program
$2.5 million is available per year to serve the needs of students with an IEP who wish to move from the government (“public”) schools to a private school. The value of the scholarship is equal to either the tuition & fees of the school or the state allocation for that specific disability.
Foster Children Scholarship Program
$2.5 million is available for the first 500 applicants per year who have been in the foster care at some time in their life prior to the 12th grade and who wish to attend a private school.
Individual Tax Credit Scholarship Program
Individual tax payers contribute to a maximum of $750 per individual and $1,000 per couple to a School Tuition Organization (STO). Students apply for these scholarships when they transition from the government (“public”) schools to a private school.
Corporate Tax Credit Scholarship Program
Corporate tax payers can contribute to a maximum of $10 million to School Tuition Organizations (STO). This fund will grow by 20% per annum. Students apply for these scholarships when they transition from the government (“public”) schools to a private school. The family of eligible students must earn wages less than 185% of the USDOA listing of poverty.
